Gonzalo Borondo was born in Valladolid in 1989 and soon moved to Segovia, where he spent his childhood. Son of a psychiatrist and a restorer of religious art, he begins as a child to draw and to express artistically become soon a necessity. Thus the theme of the sacrum, the human behavior and of the fragility of the psyche influence his thinking and combined with the natural element, which is a constant presence in its growth, are reworked over time through painting and are central in his poetry. In 2003 he moved to Madrid where begins to experiment different artistic techniques within the public space. The street becomes the privileged place of expression for Borondo, where he finds the opportunity to express and communicate keeping a strong relationship with the space and with those who experience it. In 2005 he began to frequent the studio of the painter Jose Garcia Herranz, beside which explores the possibilities of painting and studies the old masters. In 2010 he's invited for the first time to a public art festival in Istanbul and starts to deal with large dimensions wall surfaces. Since then he has made numerous public interventions around the world: urban installations and mural interventions born from the dialogue with the context and the physical space in which he operates. At the same time he cultivates his expressive ability along with a constant and intimate research. Since 2012 he presents exhibition projects in galleries and museums all over Europe, where he express through multiple media and materials, suggesting paths and reflections through paintings and multimedia installations. In 2015 inaugurates "Animal", his solo exhibition entirely realized in London, which unveils a large body of work which mixed different media and techniques, and which represents a moment of sharing of the research implemented until then.
